The ZP Claw Mount
 
The design of the original Classic Claw Mount was a product of the technology available around 1900. It was the best detachable option for fitting a scope to a weapon at a time when the use of telescopic sights on hunting and sporting weapons was not so widespread. The lenses of the day were still relatively small and neither were telescopic sights suitable for use with all calibres. The modification work that fitting the old mounts entailed was difficult and time-consuming.
